AI education for the education industry
The Red Giant works with every sector. This page is for the one I spent twenty years in.
Twenty years in education
I started my career at Cambridge University Press, where I spent four years in schools publishing. From there I joined Pearson and stayed for seventeen years, finishing as Director of Product Management and Content Strategy, leading product teams responsible for digital learning portfolios with annual sales of over £5 million. Along the way I became one of Pearson's AI ambassadors, and teaching people about AI went from a side interest to the job itself.
Since founding The Red Giant I have delivered more than 100 AI workshops and trained over 2,500 people, including AI training delivered into universities through partner engagements. I understand how education organisations work because I spent two decades inside them.
Hello, I'm Rufus. I believe AI is an extremely powerful tool, and that it should not be used for everything. AI should augment us rather than replace us. Learn what it can do, then decide where it helps and what to keep human. Nowhere is that judgement more important than in education.
What I do for education organisations
The same workshops, training programmes and consulting you'll find on the Services page, built around the work education actually involves: using AI in assessment, designing curriculum, and creating learning materials.
Workshops and training
AI literacy for staff, hands-on sessions on the tools your organisation already uses, and bespoke workshops built around your teams' work.
Half day £1,000 to £1,500 · Full day £1,500 to £2,500 (small group, standard session)
Consulting
Strategic advice for education organisations.
One-to-one consulting from £125 an hour, bookable. Longer engagements scoped and quoted.
Why it sticks
Most AI training is built by people who know AI. Mine is built by someone who spent twenty years learning how people learn. Sessions are practical, grounded in your context, and designed so what people learn on the day is still in use a month later.
